.INI''s?

If some one sends me some ini's do I just replace the old ones with those? Or is there something else to it? (Darky???)

SDK This has all the data files from the game decoded, all the ini's. If its another that requires CD, you may want to reinstall. Hope this helps

What ever you want to replace, back up a copy to a different folder, like My Docs, ect. Then copy and paste the new files to the appropreate folder, equipment, ships, ect. If you want new ones, the SDK has an installer that will put then in the data folder. Better?

Back to basics. Are you wanting to replace corupted files? Or has someone sent you modded files and you want to use them? A little more info is needed. If the original were corrupted, the SDK will replace them, if modded files, you will replace the ones in the game/data file with the modded ones. Can you give a little more info?

They are moded files but for an already existing mod. I do not need to replace the originals in any case. If any thing I would need to replace the ones for the original mod.

Make sure the mod your putting them in is deactivated, then Open FLMM and open that mod and replace the modded file with the new ones you got. Then reacctivate the mod. The new ones should be in the game then. Also delete any saved/autosaved games so as not to cause it to crash.

Umm... Darky sent me some new files containing a few new weaps. Are you saying I should deactivate the mod they are for. And put the new files in the MOD directory. Instead of in the FL directory. Then reactivate the mod?

Yes due to the fact that your saved games won't include those files and will cause it to crash. The alternative, is to delete your saved games and the auto save, then copy the files to the Fl data to over write them. And then start a new game. Either way, you won't be able to play an ongoing game after inserting the files. An example, I pulled a ships files from one game and inserted them into the FL data folder so I could have the ship on Manhat. and I had to copy all the files I needed, so my saved games were no good. Now I can play OpenSP with the new ship That I put into the game.
