Best places to find aces...

Trying to test my mod which bumps up the evade skills of pilots, and rookies/veterans seem a bit better, but I'm having trouble finding ace NPC encounters! I'm flyin around the ooniverse, and I can't get a mission over difficulty 13 lol. 28th level on my test fights game too.
Anyone know where the best npc pilots can be found? I'm hoping to find aces in lights, heavies, and very heavies- preferably not at the same time though

Mod them, its the quickest

*edit* - by that I mean, npcships.ini file - make pilots for one faction ALL ace, and then see them wherever you find them

That's a place I haven't gone yet

I was just going to use Ioncross's savegame editor to pop my test fight game over to whereever the action was. Although making them ALL aces is a way to guarantee that I'll see aces in all different ships, and I can save out the original file to restore when I'm done, hmm....
