WC Raptor in FL, but not quite...

Okay, I'm sorry to resort to posting a topic on this but I am apparently having problems. I have imported my Wing Commander Raptor model into Freelancer however when on a planet/base, my ship is completely invisible! Only thing that shows are the guns/missile launchers etc. However once I launch into space everything shows up just fine...textures and all. What's wrong here???

You might try turning you performance levels up, graphics in the game menu. I noticed that sometimes the game cuts out some non-standard ships pictures while docked, to help system performance. If you have performance issuses on your computer, just live with it, but If you have no trouble running the game, just try tuning the settings all the way up and all options on. It worked for me!

@Major Striker, with that model you should go to the Privateer: The Reckoning Mod forum. They're including all Wing Commander ships into their total converstion Reckoning pack.

You might also do a search about this, and just look about a bit as well. There have been about 10 threads with this problem in the last 2 months, so if you find one it will contain lots of solutions for you.

Sounds to me it is another LOD Ranges problem...

Look at your Shiparch.ini entry for LOD_Ranges it must equate to 0, 3000 or higher which ever suits you.

Thank you all for your help, Sun Striker, you were correct the LOD settings were off. Ok, now that's fixed however...my model looks like crap! Okay, I'm not the best modeller but I modelled it in Cinema 4d and it looks just fine...I export to Milkshape and it looks horrible. The boxes are all partially see through and depending on how you rotate the 3d view you can gape through portions of the ship. Normally this doesn't mean much but when I export into Freelancer it looks just as bad as it does in Milkshape...though it still looks perfect in Cinema 4d...any ideas??? Please help, thanks!

it is the infamous terrible hole thingy... usually it is from mirroring your ship from cinema 4d. The only way i know to remove those hole is flipping it... never done it thou, i usually mirror the half perfec part of my ship to fix the problem, of course i deleted those hole.
