How cna NPC ships be changed?

I've been trying to change the NPC ships in the SP campaign to all Star Wars ships. I'm using the Star Wars Crossover mod, and so far have discovered about 5 files in , I think 3 folders, that I have to change the ship info in. For example, I was going to give the player a TIE fighter to start off in , and King a Z-95 for mission 1 a. I followed the tutorials for changing the playership, and so far so good. But I can't seem to change King's ship without the game craching. I've changed the Shiparch, rtcshiparch (if appropriate) the NPCloadout, Loadout, and the archtype= line in the npcships and msn01a files where they've refered to msn01a_king 's ship. I've used the FLini editor. So whether my problem lies in a file I haven't found, or in the editor -which I've never had a problem with before- I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

See newbie questions where i covered making npc's fly other ships. You can apply this for storyline instead . That being Newbie Questions 2 - near the end...
