My new ship?

Hi. I was wondering if someone could take a look at this ship I made and see whats wrong with it. (And maybe finish it too?) All that needs to be done it the hard points and textures. The modeling is done I used Drizzles tutorial to do it but I got lost and now I just want to fly it and don't care if I did the whole thing. here is the file

-EDIT: I forgot to say; It's in .MD3 format

Making ships isn't as difficult as it seemes to be....

Adding hardpoints is easy( select a face on which you want that hardpoint to be, {devide it into smaller bits if necessary} click duplitate selection and in the groups section of Milkshape just re-name it....) , and as for the texturing you can use Lithium Unwrapper. There is a tutorial in the Tutorials Forum...

But why cant I select a face to make into a hard point when I'm in 3D view? Also, when I select a face, it highlights all the faces that are aligned tothat one all the way to the other side. Why?

if you can select a face while in 3d view, i havn't found the way.

and to only select a single face, you would want to turn on the "ignore backfaces" option. it's a little checkbox underneath your select options.

Even if you turn on ignore backfacing it sometimes takes lot's of tries to hit just the face you want...(clikck....darn, selected several faces...deselect and try again ...repeat x20)...I H8 Milkshape

oops, darn... that thing moved.. time to hit that undo button... oh no it doesn't work... <<<<< Common problem with milkshape... i suggest using another program to do it... I always complete the model in 3dsmax and export it to ms3d then export it to fl... for short, i only use ms3d for conversion to fl.

milkshape is exactly why i stopped making ships after the longsword. it's just too hard and primitive to use. I'm used to Rhinocerous 3d and the like. At worst, just import a ship and use the hardpoints from that, or ask someone whos made a ship for their ms3d file.

Yay!!! Someone with Rinocerous!!! So how did you get the files imported into the game? I would be using it, but can't figure out how. YAY, FINALLY!!!!!!

i'm forced to agree... milkshape sucks. i'm also forced to agree that the only thing i use it for at this point is conversion to .cmp - i do the rest of the work in 3dsmax.
