The codes above were taken from my saved game file.

My question is this: why is it that the ship archetype ID number, the shild id number, weapon and such are different from the ID numbers as shown in the modding tutorial. These IDs seem to have 10 digits.

Also if there's a compilation, of a list of these type of ID numbers somewhere in this site, can someone kindly point one to me?

Its not ids numbers, and for that - try ioncross - using FLHash or whatever its called. Should be able to find from there...........but your probabily better off just using Ioncross Character editor instead

Thx chips, will give it a try around weekend. No I can't use ion cross char editor, won't work coz my Freelancer is a remote app on my computer. So there'sn't exactly a freelancer.exe, and that editor doesn't recognize my saved fileds.

Well, i aint promising, but i think you will find the crc calculator will do the same thing for you - but you still need to enter the name of the equipment or ship - like:

3908462812 is the starflier... (ge_fighter)

However, you would have to manually type them in. There is ANOTHER tool which does this all for you though - you just have to set it off on the files. Its the Gamedata exporter:
