making your mod compatible with flmm

Hello Gurus of the forum

Can you please direct me to a tutorial or topic on how I can get my mod into FLMM format. I think I saw somewhere that I could just zip the file structure and add FLMM at the end. However this was instructions on using an old mod. If it is just this simple then I am putting way too much thought into this and should get out more often.
I see that other peoples mods are just xml with "append" or "Add" where you have made changes. Can I use any xml editor or is there a utility that does this for you? Or am I overlooking the obvious and should just zip it up and FLMM does the rest?

Thanks for all of you help

To make your mod compatable with FLMM just zip up your mod and then add the .flmod extension after the .zip extension it's that easy.....

Example
MyMod.zip
change to
MyMod.zip.flmod
