.CMP exporter

Hello all,

I just finished my ship mesh and need to export the .cmp file from Milkshape. I have tried the .cmp exporters from TLR but all it gives is an .dll file...where does this go? That is all I need; the .cmp files because most everything else is completed - minus the infocards *tremble, tremble*

Thanks for the help,
_Saber_

P.S. Once I get it running anyone care to test it?

Copy the .dll file into the Program Files->Milkshape 1.?.? directory. The ?.? bit depends on the version of Milkshape being used - 1.7.0 is latest i know of.

Start Milkshape, load the model and look in the File->Export menu for the Freelancer CMP entry

I did that...and I keep opening my ms3D file then I click File > Export > Freelancer CMP.

Then save window pops up and then I name it ie: Halberd, then I click Save.

And then it become "Not Responding"...what should I do?

After loading model into Milkshape, open the Tools menu and select "Model Cleaner". If a dialog opens asking if you want to clone materials, click No (might do it anyway if no mat assigned to hardpoints). The final dialog is a list of items adjusted in the model. The flat triangle could be the problem .

Save model and try exporting again.

Also, exporting to cmp while having the importer loaded can cause milkshape to crash (at least with version 1.6.6.6), so if you're using it, change the importer's extention to .xxx and should work fine.
