How do you do this?

OK then, I've created a movie for my MOD, but when I insert it into the correct place n everything, then in freelancer.ini put the required text string, it jumps the movie and goes straight to the splash screen!

Oh yeah, and how do you change the splash screen, font, and menu music?

Cheers,

Dale

Splash screen is just a BMP file. Replace the file and that should work.

Edit: i just checked this, but it didn't work. Not sure why, because the TNG splash was in there a while ago when I played it. Oh well, to bad.

OKay - you need to have the movie in the exact same format as the existing ones, so try finding that out. Then i would just overwrite (mod correct? so FLMM will back the originals up anyways) the original ones anyway - so name it the same as theirs.

Splash screens are just the Freelancer - no music playing. That aint splash - that is background files or a different nature. I have only had very poor efforts at editing them - as i have no idea what most of it means - i need a tutorial on that one. the music is in the file stipulated in the universe\systems\intro\bases\rooms

Open the three files in there and you cannot miss the music ref - and also the files you see in the background.

The movie file has to be a wmv file, and i have tried to add a new one but with no luck, instead i renamed my movie to fl_intro.wmv which is the intro movie and it works fine.Windows Movie Maker will change your movie file to a .wmv file if your video editing program dosent work.

The start up splash screens are in a TGA format(TrueVision Targa).
There are two sets of splash screens one lot is a BMP and the other a TGA, changing the BMP's wont have any affect.
You will notice that there are two TGA's one is a higher resolution and the other is a lower resolution, your gfx card pics which ever one it feels like so its a good idea to change both.

hope this helps

Well I have tried to change both tga files, but the Freelancer just skips this screen and goes directly to the main menu...
