This would be a nice feature

Some people have their own modded server running on their own mod i am one of them. My mod is still in the works and far from completion. But i still update it now and then when i have the time (pretty busy with personal life).. But upgrades can cause problems some people are to lazy or to stupid to read the banners in my console and see that there is a update.. Instead they keep playing with a older version wich sometimes may cause some problems.. Would it be possible to have a program like mod manager that can acctually communicate with a other program on server.. So the server can tell wich mod needs to be used and if the person does not have it it will upload it to them.. (also be able to link it from a diffrent server to save bandtwith) This way people will always be updated with the mod your server is running.. Also players without any mods should be able to connect to the server (atleast mine i am working on a mod so that unmodded players can also play without having to crash, and without having a disavantage at all.)

So in short create some kind of patch server.. I am no programmer but would something like this be possible..??

Even easier - just make your mod server side for a while or something. Either that, or just change the version number each time you update. However, updating is a MAJOR pain in modding terms, hence why peeps don't want to keep having to update. They really are that lazy. Simplest way is to change server password, and ONLY make it available in the readme files that come with the update. That way they HAVE to download the mod to find the password. It is possibly the ONLY reliable method. Not sure about making it so you can upload mods from servers- but i really doubt it (at this stage)....

But i dont need a password i may have new weapons and such but people without the mod can still play without crashing.. I am tryin a complete new aproach i went mod only once but it killed my server...
