Ship question

Ok I have just got myself a powerful Alienware laptop so that I can go2 LAN partys. I am bringing along Freelancer so that I can have some fun against alot of peeps. I want to add as many ships to the game as possible and as many new systems as possible. I dont want to make the ships fly faster or make stupidly powerful weapons etc. How would I go about doing this? I see alot of ship packs out for FLMM but when I activate one mod then it wont like me activating another. I dont want large cruisers just small fighters, dont want any unfair advantage. How would I go about combining all the ship packs? My local LAN group have about 40 peeps there! So I want a large variety of ships so we can all be unique in our own ships. Who can help me out with my problem? Cheers

If you want a pure ship pack I suggest you check out one of the mods that do nothing but add ships. I cannot remember their names but i know they exist. I believe one guy did a starwars ship mod a while ago. Maybe you should check it out. I forget his name but he was very good at making the ships. Though this guys mod tended to be biased towards the heavy fighter config.

Otherwise it is a case of Do it your self.

Lots of mods change the nature of freelancer and whilst these have their fans its not what everybody wants. The only big mod I know about that doesnt make huge changes to the combat system is my own. However my mod does make big changes to the trade system and random mission system as well as the encounter system, so im not so sure its suitable for you.

So if you decide to do it your self, be sure to ask the other mod makers if you can use their ships before taking them. Also if you intend to base your ship mod on another persons mod then ask about that too. You will avoid trouble that way and may actually get some help

If your going to run lan games with that many people i strongly suggest making sure all players have directx9 or lower (no a or b versions) and turn off hardware accelloration on all sound cards. This should prevent random missions from crashing you all out the server. If people insist they have no issues with dx9a or dx9b dont let them join your server. Such people may be telling the truth but freelancer is a funny old game in this area where mods are concerned.

unfort i have a mod for you which would add all the ships, (FL ones)- but until the commands are sorted by IGx89 (the command lines are playing up) its not available. I suppose i could just put it into ini files rather than scripting, it just doesn't seem as good really - LOL

Actually - i have it in non scripting too. Interested?

That I know of alot of us use DirectX9 anyways And I was planning on asking permission from all the sources where I get my ships from, it is only curtious of course

Any help would be very much appreciated, so yeh I would love the ship pack, I think I downloaded your mod chips, not to sure, I am on broadband so download every mod when it comes out, well try2. I even have Boba Fett skin model
