MP to SP

k, here's my modding problem:
I cant play online too much due to time constraints and the fact that I dont appreciate lag (i have a 56K). I want to either know how to convert MP mods to play SP (especially FreeWorlds and Freelancer Level2), or how to create a server offline that i can play on (without connecting to the net). any ideas?

Try OpenSP, its in the download section. It removes the storyline and opens all jumpholes.

u can set up a LAN server on ur PC and play the Multiplayer there, but it just acts like a server on your PC.

I read this post yesterday. My son happen to see it as well and asked about MP for the 2 of us since he was having trouble on the internet sites. (Too many preditors on newbies). So I checked and setup a "MP server" on my comp, since we are networked together in my home. Works great, we both can play together in an MP setting without all the MP traffic. It works well on just one comp as well, so you should have no trouble. Modding is fine from what I can see as long as you do it for yourself on your machine and running established mods work as well too. I wish I had found this sooner, I perfer it better over a modded SP.

but remember: -FreeWorlds does not support playing with openSP!!!

for the moment, im just gonna focus on getting freeworlds going. you cant use openSP as that is for the SP only. wot im trying to do is convince my pc to run a server offline (neither using lan nor internet) so that i can play these mods myself. i know it can be done, i jus dunno how

u just need to adjust in the m13a.ini the starting location to coruscant or sth.
you need to find out the id of the base you want to start at (e.g. li_01_05_base)
then the ship you want to start with (loadouts.ini)
and everything should be fine....(that's the way I did it with a previous vers of FW)
