Editing your Lvl in saved game .fl files

I am probably violating one of the rules of posting a question that has been answered before. But, what the hay, I am tired tonight and do not feel like spending any more time digging thru the forum. I have delved into the forum enough to make my eyes feel like they are bleeding.

How do I get into the .fl files to edit things. I have downloaded the Ioncross file to edit the easy stuff. All I want to get at is the rank = # line to change your level in the SP game.

I appologize to the forum veterans for poluting all the very good posts, but I have been trying to get at this stuff and have become very frustrated. I do not have an C++ skills or the program so If anyone can break it down to simple learning I would appreciate it. I am a fast learner, so if anyone would like to educate me that would be great.

hey,

just download flcodec, and change the rank = line to whatever level you want to be.

I have tried the codecs, but I don't know how to use them. I open the .fl files and get nothing but giberish. I am looking for a start to finish newb walkthru please.

I didn't allow for rank editing because it wouldn't work. What you need to do is just give yourself more cash and when you fire up the game again, your rank will automatically change.

Were you to actually edit your rank, your game would recalculate it again and it would go back to its original value.

I can change my rank quite fine when I use FLSaveEditor. I had given myself 36 million credits, and was at lvl 36, and then I edited my lvl to 42 just for the heck of it, and it was at 42 when I was in the game.

RILMS, as far as I know, it works until you DO anything. Go spend some money or something and your rank automatically will be recalculated back to its proper value.
