Nothing hard. Your tune must be WAV, then add it to data/audio/music directory. Then declare it in data/audio/music.ini like

nickname = music_valkyrie
type = music
file = audio\music\music_valkyrie.wav
attenuation = 6
streamer = true

Under "sounds" in brackets, as are the others. Then choose the system where you want to put it and replace a music tag with nickname of the sound. I.e. open data/universe/systems/rh02/rh02.ini and change one music statement to

battle = music_valkyrie

I think you have already found out you need BINI decoder to edit INIs.

what's attenuation and streamer ?

Streamer is that crossfading, I think. You know, softening of sound at the end of music, when being replaced by other one. Attentuation is in-game volume adjustation. Higher the number, more volume, you can also use negative values to bring volume down.

Its a shame no-one searches for topics anymore really,

Anyways - check the newbie thread - the second one (newbie questions look no further2) contains the index of the first one, with links to the pages. From ther you will find a small tutorial kinda thing on how to change music and effects.
