A question about loot drops

Hopefully, this should be a simple question for someone, (chips), to answer for me. I have added some nice toys to the rmlootinfo.ini file, but in testing, the loot is not dropped.

Making the modifications in the rmlootinfo.ini lets the NPC’s know they have to drop stuff, but do I need to add the same kit to the loadouts.ini or loadouts_special.ini for it to be available as loot?

I think it is in this,DATA/EQUIPMENT/weapon_equip.ini
then on your selected weapon,

flash_particle_name = li_laser_03_flash:
flash_radius = 15 flash radius:
light_anim = l_gun01_flash:
projectile_archetype = li_gun01_mark04_ammo:
separation_explosion = sever_debris
auto_turret = false
turn_rate = 90
lootable = true: this makes it lootable
LODranges = 0, 20, 40, 80, 100
You can also do this on other weapons, like No_Cloaking_Device ect.

Sir Milkshape, some of the items I have dropping as loot are not normal equipped items on the NPC’s, therefore they would not be ‘equipped’ as such, could your solution still be the answer?

rmlootinfo.ini just defines the lootdrop in random missions (hence the name rm...) but NOT in encounters.
try taking a mission of the faction that u changed, the effect should be quite noticable then.
Take a look at loadouts.ini to define stuff that NPCs may drop.
u can either equip things (so NPCs actually use them with the
equip = < name >
line or if u just want to have uneffected NPC behaviour but more loot then assign them the stuff as cargo.
cargo = < name >

oh, that was from my ini files of a beam weapon because Freelancer crashed.

I think you will find that in fact rmlootwhasmacalled.ini is in actual fact responsible for more than just the missions, otherwise i would be pleasantly surprised that fighters drop nano bots and shield batteries when killed, even though they have none in the loadouts.
Try making sure you haven't set it to a too high level of opposition, and that you have it set for correct factions and so on.

OK, can we have a consensus of opinion then, do I need to do more than alter the rmlootdrops.ini for extra loot to be dropped on bar missions and during random encounters.

EDIT ~ I have edited rmthingy, and it doesn’t seem to be working. I will try altering the equip/loadout files and see what happens, if anyone has any more ideas though, feel free to post them.
