a mesh is an interconnected group of triangles. If your program can export to something like dxf, 3ds, or asc, etc., Milkshape can import those.

i know that LOL hense the reason why im using cad, does it have to be triangles, cause right now im working on meshing my ship so i can be imported by milkshape, but im having trouble meshing it

Any plane can be defined with 3 points. Freelancer, and just about anything 3d, needs to have meshes made of triangles to work properly. What formats does your CAD prog export to?

Also: too many consecutive separate posts inflate your post count.

.3ds see what i did was i used milkshape to import the armored transport and exported it as a .3ds file which my cad can open so i looked at it and noticed it was meshed and figured that was why my ship wasnt importing back into cad or into milkshape. When i started to learn to mech in cad it was wierd like with all the diff points and stuff and i guess triangls work the baest and i wanted to kknow if the triangles affected the ship look and its texture. im still new to the ship building thing

Actually Slipstream aka Black Specter of FightSpace (my ship) is created in AutoCAD. It is my very first ship. I have no troubles about those triangles you are mentioning. I exported it inot 3ds because it is the most common format that any modeller will recognize. When i use 3dsmax the triangle you are mentioning are already generated. now slipstream has those triangles. AutoCAD models are composed of wire meshes only, unless you create a mesh which is very hard to do.
