hi guys
just thought id add my pathetic opinion into the mix.
whether fear factor was a little harsh or not is kinda beside the point.
we have all enjoyed ( and occasionally despaired at ) the relative freedom this forum has had comapred to the others on this site . weve all seen the "worst of the worst" posts in the off topic forum - if they stay there i seriously doubt any of us are going to feel that our admins are derelict. the basic truth is moderation is neccesarry, i may not always agree with the decisions but i realise the necessity of someone making them.
there has always been a surprisingly open policy about complaints (compared to other boards i inhabit) on this site, but ive always felt these things are best delt with in private corrispondence rather than public debate .im sorry wassup1444465 i dont mean to demean your legitimate right to complain - i just think there are far more civilised ways which would have stood more of a chance of winning the argument you initially proposed. as it is this has a horrible possibility of degenerating into a bout of admin bashing with every idiot whos thread was legitimately locked claiming it was due to the rush of hormones to fear factors head.
for myself i have never had any reason to doubt fear factor had the best interests of this forum at heart - and ill happily forgive many, many things i disagree with for the good of the community as a whole.all this however is beside the point. we joined the starlancer community, they put up with our initially stupid posts untill we learned to ask the right questions.in this forum we are all supposed to be learning form each other and delighting in the things we have acheived ( have we forgotten none of the things we take for granted - new ships, rumours etc, were forseen in the m$ plan for freelancer?).
this is ,on the whole, the most supportive ,friendly, forum i know of - we have acheived all our wonderfull results without any help or encouragement from the marketers of this game - and indeed against their wishes on some points.
i think on the whole ill put up with a little over sensitive moderation to continue that.
i have no problem with funny, zany posts ( far from it i enjoy them enormously )but they have their place - its called "off topic" . thats the perfect place to complain about arse holes abusing the cloaking mod and the ways of stopping them. this was originally a perfectly on topic game editing problem but has lately degenerated into a pathetic slanging match . we all agree that the whinging mutants bugging you desreve a dry slap - but do they really deserve 2 threads in which to whine about it in this forum?
frankly id move this whole thread to site/suggestions since it seems to me to be a more legitimate setting to discuss moderators behaviour .
feel free to flame me - frankly i couldnt give a monkeys and am only playing nice cos ive never found a better community with this much modding ablility.

Whoa, back the truck up off his backside folks. Let me set the record straight here once and for all.
I am behind Fear Factors actions 100% (it ain't easy being a competent moderator on a popular fansite such as this.)
Here's one reason why. Read the whole thread.
Secondly, we DO have a forum Rules and Regs of this site that is (in my ever to be so humble opinion) misnamed but simple and to the point. Pay close attention to the section titled "Censoring Posts" please. flaming is a BIG no no.
And last but not least, if you have ANY problems with something posted on here, locked, editted, replied to, deleted, scramblied or fried , you should be sending an email to Gibby the owner FIRST!!!!!!!!! I will not sit back and watch a fellow moderator get publically called out for their actions and feel the need to defend themselves publically in return. Let the owner of the web site (who grants the moderator's rights in the first place) deal with the inner family dymanics. This will never turn into some "kangaroo court" so long as I'm around here.
Back off guys, take a deeeeep breath. The avenue to voice your concerns has been in place for years now. Use it.
