Problems with tractoring multiple targets.

I know there is a topic regarding tractor beams on this page, its probably still warm. An issue was raised in the last few posts that deserves a mention on its own.

Something that I, and others, have come across is the problem of tractor range. If you alter the tractor range and speed in the equip.ini, it only alters the range of the individually targeted items, not the multiple items option.

If anyone can help with this, I would be grateful.

This feature is not a bug: your tractor beam has a certain amount of power. If you concentrate that power on one target it can tractor loot within a wider range. If you tractor in many targets, the power is widely spread. Logical, istn't it?

A great theoretical explanation, but we shall say, just for the sake of a mod, that I don’t care about maximum power drain, I just want a tractor that will collect all items in a 10k radius.

I just want a way to LOCK-ON to multiple targets . Come on, you know there have been times where you just want to shoot swarms of missiles at many fighters at once. The closest I can come to that now is pressing the fire missile button followed immediately by the next target button and then repeating indefinitely.
But yeah, I noticed this about tractor beams a while ago. It seems stupid, but whatever. I can't think of a way to get around the problem.
