Genrally Anoying nOOb question....

Well here we go
Anyone who actually reads this AND replies without any sarcastic commentry thanks!
ANYWAY I have designs for a new (maybe) crossbread of ship. It crosses superior cargo from the freighters to the survivability and handaling of the Light/Heavy fighters! Wow what an original idea probably not. Long before I attempt to put it into the game I want to try and MAKE it so to speak...

I need to know what programs i need to use and where to get them
Also any good names for them please.

If any one else is at all interested ill post some approx stats for the Light Freight-Fighter and Heavy Freight-Fighter.

(Oh and to the guy who replied to my other post ect stands for ecetara and not ECTOPLASM! NOMADS ARE NOT MADE OF ECTOPLASM!)

Me against the world huh? Put some coffee on Ill be done in a minute....

Milkshape. That's how you'll get started on your model, I reckon.

Milkshape seems to be the weapon of choice for most people - but any 3D software would do (personally its taken 2 weeks to get to work in milkshape - and the others - i can't even build a square in...) Then you will need the CMP importer - which transforms your saved ship file into the CMP file that the game uses for reading ships thingy. Imagine posted a thread on 'making ships from scratch - bout 1-2 weeks down the list. This takes you from when you have MADE your model in milkshape - and from the looks of it is indepth as you could wish for!
Downloads area for the importer - type in milkshape 3D into google or sommat to get to the milkshape site. Good luck - and milkshape has a 21day free trial - but only costs $20 for full thing (Rhino and stuff cost nearly 1k!!!!)

Nice to see someone respond! Ill get Milkshake soon and start my little project. No names? Shame. Oh and when you have a rough shape how would you go about applying graphic details? Ah ill look it up in the Forum Search...

And one more thing if I ever get good at this Ship Building lark ill next move onto my "Killzone Base" project hehehe......

(Imagine thanks for the spelling!)
