Leonhart, i don't mind Bloodriot joining in and placing in mercenary/pirate groups who will prey on weakened ships and what not. What do you think?

I've sent the table prototype to you wanderer. Forward it to Leonhart and review it. I didn't exactly knew all the things you would need so some stuff may be lacking while others are probably unnecessary.

Fiddle with it and see if it's any good.

Oh... I used some stuff that probably doesnt make sense... i dunno if it can be made to work or just replace it with something u may find more usefull.

Anyone know how to make battleship encounters for Server side - and what the clients will need if anything? The reason i ask before i am pointed in the directon of the link to
* TUTORIAL *** Nomad battleship&gunboat&figher encounter. A serverside mod.
in the tutorials section is that this thing seems to ramble on about lots of problems without any adjustments being made to the top of the thread! Does that bad boy work? If you have a little time could you check his post and let me know - as its all hard to follow from here.....lol

Not sure, but from what i understand it shouldn't be any different than standard encounter files if its serverside. You might want to ask Giskard though. And Bloodriot, welcome to the team.

If this is going to turn out to be anything like what you guys are describing here, this could be the mod to end all mods. Just felt like getting that out in the open. I mean, everyone else might as well drop their meaningless stuff and join you guys (if they're determined by you to be helpful). I've seen some of your ships, Wanderer, and I must say they were excellent. I've seen screens of yours, Leonhart, and I like the dark theme they've got going. Maybe one side can be some kind of good Federation-esque type thing (Wanderers) and the other can be some kind of evil Transgalactic Empire, or invading force. I'm just throwing ideas out there, but adding some kind of backround to this epic conflict would add considerably to the immersiveness of it.

Actually, most of the dlls describing my ships tells the story of how the engineers of all 5 houses created a new mega-corporation which combined the talents of all the respective houses to create these ships. Darkworlds story involved a colony ship which was presumed destroyed but actually managed to escape earlier than the other colony ships and ended up hidden away from the others. There wouldn't be much of a conflict if both stories were combined.

I do agree that immersiveness is a must here... this could easily turn into a FL version of an RPG mixed up with Team Deathmatch.

Wanderer and Leonhart's fleets would be the major 2 sides in the mod. My job is to provide the minorities like mercenary/bountyhunters, Pirates and Traders.

I have 2 possibilities, either make those 3 factions completely neutral and they run jobs for or attack both sides. Or making 2 versions of the Merc/BH and Traders each version of the same being pro Wanderer and con leonhart and the other version being the opposite. The Pirates are completely Con everything and wil attack all. Particulary traders.

I got some ideas I'd like to discuss with Wanderer and Leonhart about how the factions will intereact and how the whole mod gameplay mechanics could work, but of course i'll need to know if there's a codder in the team cuz my ideas will require one.

Its possible to simply make the mercenaries hate both sides but to a lesser degree compared to either of them. What i mean is that its possible for both sides to have a negative relation of -1 and a set of only -0.4 or so for the mercenary groups. That way, its a 3 way fight but Leonharts and mine will place priority on each other while the mercenaries will take 2nd place allowing for the mercenaries to exploit any weaknesses.

I hope this is SP Compatible, what i mean is you can play this MOD even though you are not in MP... I mean it must have an AI of some sort.

Naturally. It won't be much of an mod if both sides didn't have AI controlled ships battling it out.

Firebase, i received your email and i must say that ship certainly looks nice. I will commence converting it shortly as soon as the Tempest is complete. Also, i believe that Glock would love to have this ship in the mod as well.

Uh, boy am I behind the times. I've been so buzy on the current mod that Wanderer, Firbase and I are working on that I did not even know this thread existed. And I'm the one that is supposed to assemble this new mod that everyone is talking about here. Somebody needs to wake me up and tell me something once in awhile. LOL. Looks like Wanderer and Leonart have got my year scheduled out pretty well.
