Tradewars
Not sure if anyone has tried this or if it has been discussed..but given the way the game is now..i'm not even sure its posssible..
I've always been in love with the old Tradewars BBS game, most amazing trading space sim ever...
I'm wondering if the things it has would be possible with the FL engine i.e.:
Planet Creation - Players could buy a special torpedo that could create a brand new planet, they would then need to ferry colonists to this planet
Planet Citadel - this would mainly be a defensive feature in TW it was mounted with a large cannon for blasting ships ina certain radius
Corporations - Players could join a corp for protection a ship/planet sharing
Space Stations - Players could build space stations for trading
Multiple Ships - A player could transport into any ship he owned in a certain radius
Wrecked ships - the ships of defeated players/aliens could be towed and sold or brought back to base to be fixed up and used
Defensive fighters - these small ships could be left to guard things like trade posts, etc..
Escape Pods - When a players ship was destroyed it was gone, he was ejected into an escape pod and then could make a run for it back to base or a safe haven till he could be rescued..eh lost all carried credits, cargo, shields etc
I would be interested in hearing thoughts on this..if any of these things are possible or possible to be simulated in some way...
