A question and Request pertaining The Valkyrie and Falcon

Ever since Mission 3 when you take on Rheinland Valkyries, I immediately fell in love with it. When I get to Rheinland and find out that it is outclassed by a Falcon for 50k, I was, to say the least, outraged. Simply put, IMO, a Military Ship of the Same Class should ALWAYS outdo a Civilian one, and not to mention that Rheinland has the best technology out of any of the other houses Militarily(Except Liberty, perhaps, Remember that Liberty was nerfed), and to have a Civilian ship outclass something that should Dominate a battlefield is quite a shame. I mean, the Falcon is More manueverable, has more power(And Hence, can equip better things), and has everything facing Forward. Would it be possible for someone to quickly brew up something that rebalances things with these two craft? I was thinking Switch the Costs, keep level requirements, as they're really of no concequence, give the Valkyrie 3 Level 8 Hardpoints and 9 Level 9 for Guns, and a Level 8 Turret, and tone all of the Falcon's down by one, switch Armor, and although I don't remember which has more Nanobots and Shield Batteries, I would think that a Military Craft would have more(It's designed for a Head on Engagement, the Falcon is designed for simple Anti-Pirate duty, Heavy Patrol and Cargo escort). I'd do it myself, but quite simply, I've never done anything with modding before(Well, that's a Lie, I've TRIED to and failed every time, though my last attempt was a few years ago...). I read the tutorials on the forums here, and while I understand the tags, a lot of the values don't make sense and seem like drivel. Even if someone could get me jumpstarted to do this myself i'd be appreciative.

Secondly, I'm having problems with mods. I activated a Battleship encounter mod, and noticed that I wasn't encountering any Capital Ships. So I camped around Navy Patrol Routes(Kusari) and still found nothing. Though this wouldn't be very accurate for the Battleship encounter mod, I tried using a Liberty Cruiser Mod(Makes it buyable at Manhattan). I disabled the Encounter one in FLMM and activated the Cruiser one, and started a new game, and low and behold the... Rhino. No Cruiser. Though it's entirely possible(and very likely that I'm wrong), but I seem to think that nothing's working right Mod-wise. I should also note that I was trying to use a mod to change Trent's clothes(Although, I did this Manually), with similiar failure results. I replace the ini file with the correct wardrobe I want, and Trent still wears his leather jacket. One thing I think might be a problem is the fact that I haven't updated Freelancer, and upon posting this I'm going to grab the patch. Any suggestions?

Oy! First, watch out for that patch, it may mess up some sp stuff. There really is no reason to use it unless you're having problems with mp, and removing it entails reinstalling fl.

Yeah- check that FLMM is working on the right directory as well...it should by default - but if someone elses mods aint working - then the files aint been replaced....
For the valkyre - are u just looking for someone to make you a mod of it - or are you willing to do it with instruction, and is it for SPor MP (patched servers might boot you as you mount higher than normal classed guns)

Either would be fine, and it's for single player... I don't feel like getting on multo for awhile.

EDIT: I just checked, and the directory is correct.

Have made some changes to the Valkyre and the falcon for you - as well as changed the power to handle the higher weapons classes.
Give me somewhere to email it too - or msn messanger addy - and will send it to ya. Any probs and you will have my email / msn to contact me back on for prompt solutions (shouldn't be though).

Thanks man. Also, I'm still a bit unsure about mods working at all... I did turn the Battleship encounter mod back on, and I had Battleship patrols all over Liberty. They were either a Cruiser and 3 Defenders or 4 cruisers and a Dreadnaught. There were also Rheinland patrols(Story based, obviously. I'm assuming everyone here has beaten the first part of mission one) with a Cruiser and 2 Gunboats. I'm still not sure if the ships themselves are due to heightened security in the system because of the Schultzky assassination or from the mod. I'm in Bretonia now(Just finished the Sprauge Mission), and I can't find any Capital Ships in Bretonia space- Only gunboats, which are there normally. In a nutshell, are those Dreadnaughts and Cruisers in Liberty the product of a mod or story?

part of the story i think - can't remember - never been back to NY to check em out once the story was going....lol
You should just be able to use this easy - turn the mod on after exracting the thing!

p.s - the valk has higher weaps class (but moderately so), higher shield class and more armour and nano bots/bats limit. The Falc has less bots and bats, reduced armour and reduced gun/shield ratings..... email me if any probs crop up - should be fine - gave it a quick test - but i don't have all the time in the world to check out specifically made mods - have to have feedback after you test it instead....ie...you are the guinea pig ...lol

The Battleship Encounter Mod only mods Liberty encounters in New York (Li01.ini). I checked his script and wanted to expand it to other systems as well. If your lucky you might see Rheinlanders battling it out with Liberty.

One of the coolest ideas for a mod too... I'm learning how to do this so I can create encounters in other systems as well, after I'm done with my different thruster effects mod.

I have the Battleship encounter mod.


I've seen them in colorado for a bit. but that was the farthest they went. They are mostly in New York. Mainly manhatten.

Anyway i was wondering if someone has a FLMM mod having battleships encounters everywhere.


also when i do use the mod, the Rheinland and the Liberty don't fight....

Yeah, they kinda just... mlorp around. Lots of Valkyries, a few Cruisers and Gunboats.
