Selfillumination Maps. YOHOO

Hello there.
Looked around some and didn´t find anything about this, but anyone know how to add and get the Selfillumination maps working.
You know those that light up the windows on the capital ships even if they are "on the dark side"
This is for completely new models and textures.

... I've never seen the lights actually turn on when I look at the dark side of the ships. I believe that they might just be in the texture, or always on (ie, hpRunningLight). I could be wrong tho, I'm usually blowing cap ships up rather than just looking at them

Oh yea.. that is a texture,, but how to do it.. in the .mat.. the assignment to the model so to speak.. Its a separate texture that I know.. basicly just an Alpha. .

well.. someone at least has to be interested to get this to work.

Well after a *brief* look, they appear to be masked images. There are also some differences in the cmp file, for these you will see two textures defined instead of the normal single texture. The type also changes in the cmp file, so much for *allways* being DcDt or whatever it was

I would suggest looking at how it's done in one of the existing capital ship models and then trying to duplicate in another model.

If you need help working with masks, try searching the net for "alpha channel mask editing" or somthing similar.

Yea.. the are Alphachannels basicy,, and are listed as DcDtEt. . in the .mat file.. hmm .. but probably I have to do some stuff in Milkshape before to enable it correctly..
Tnx for the reply anyway :-) but I basicly got that far before.
