Heavy Ships

The great thing about Reynen MOD is that the Gunboats-Battleships are available. However, I can't stand most everything else... The TIE fighters are all too tough, the weapons are all too tough and easily gotten, etc.

Perhaps, can someone just make a simple mod, or just get some files... making the gunboats, cruisers, destroyers, battleships, and various large cargo haulers available? Not making them WAY too tough or too weak... not making them invinceable but not making them floating panzy platforms... simply "realistic"... also so that those HUGE ships can't get pistol-whipped around whenever a little fighter smacks into them.

Regular freelancer, with new ships available... and only ones that have always been included in the game (since battleships and such have been encounterd). Toss in a few Battleship or whatever turrets here and there. Battleships should not be too manuverable but should be able to go pretty fast, especially in cruise unlike smaller vessles since their engines are so much bigger etc. etc... and Battleships can hold their ground against fighters, but only so many (perhaps 10)... Battleships tend to be given escorts so it should stay that way. Reynen's Kusari was great, I just hated how it got thwacked around and the missle turrets weren't optional.

The prices should also reflect it's size and etc. So most players would have to take quite some time to amass the wealth to afford a Battleship and all it's armaments.

It would be cool if people got together and started armies... getting together an armada of ships, and having the leader be a capital ship or some such thing, and have a few haulers to make money for the armada. Just an idea... since all the other mods out there just seem rediculous with all the stuff tossed in there... not to say they're not fun... but it gets aggitating after awhile.

The Gundam missle MOD may be onto something too, perhaps vollies of weak but very manuverable missles would be neat.

To top it all off, a nice HUD for the cockpit view... that'd be nice too.


Just take it into conscideration... I'm trying to figure it out myself but it seems a little complicated, so I thought I'd toss it out there for all you experts to look at, and see if maybe you can make that dream a reality!

Working on that but its slow going since its a one man show and needs to be tested every now and then.

Well that's excellant to hear. I fully understand what it's like to work on something on one's own. If you need any help, let me know, and I'll see if I can. I can learn the skills, and offer them to assist you...if nothing else, I could offer pointers, opinions, and advice. I tend to play wargames often, and I'm a realy history/sciences type... so nothing would be more pleasing then to throw a little scientific accuracy of sorts into a science-fiction game.
