atmospheric flying?

atmospheric flying?

in several cutscenes it shows ships flying through the atmosphere of a planet (eg rescuing doc. Sinclair).

Would it be possible to make a new docking ring that does not lead to the planet's services but to the surface of the planet itself.

this would add a whole new area to the gameplay (eg code a few types of missions - "stop target from reaching docking ring" or "destroy pirate planetary base" and also possibly let you land in areas other than the single base on planets (eg - visit a research station or hidden military base on pitsburgh)

However hard we fight, however mighty our allies, there is always something that can destroy us. Be it Fire or Ice, all these change is how long it takes for us to surrender to death. -Evel-

Would be very cool, but pretty much impossible to implement unless you hardcode each planets surface and the bases you could find on it, special docking rings, etc. It would be very hard to do.

I have done alot of things with this game, but to do this, it would certainly take more than a simple mod team. E-mail the makers about it.
