What is ''Mod'' and another question.

I''m curious now because someone got me wondering.

I was on some server (i'm not going to say the name) that i was about to crash trying out the Large Train Mod (someone get that fixed) this guy asked me how i was doing this i replied "its a mod" then he asked "what does mod stand for?" Now obviously i think its Modifier or soemthing but i just want to be sure. This may seem insignificant but its bothering the hell out of me (its like a song u cant get out of your head) and plus this would be good for Mod-Newbies.

Also is there any starcraft mods out? at all?

mod or some call it modification or the act of modifying or the condition of being modified. A result of modifying. A small alteration, adjustment, or limitation.
I like the difinition small alteration

oh ya Starcraft

I can remember many a long hours put in on modding that game

Freelancer is the only game that has made me play it for more than 6 hours straight and still wanting more besides SC

Those two games make up my bible
