Need to advance a bit

I got to leon base to purchase a titan cause I had the money only to be dissappointed when I needed to be a lvl. 32 and I was only a loely 10. I dont WANT to leave the base but.......... are there any mods or trainers or SOMETHING so that i can advance to lvl. 32 without doing the work cause im just to damnlazy and ive already beat the game, I dont want to go through it all again. What can I do??

I have a better idea. Modify your market_ships.ini file so that you can buy that ship at lvl 10 (or lvl 1 even).

I won't tell you how because thats half the fun. Check the editing forum, there's tons of info there.

While I can't tell you specifically how to do it, I am still learning that myself. PantherRAS meant search the tutorials for how modify the game. Specifically that file he mentioned, market_ships.ini. I doubt any one specifically mentioned the ship you want changed.

Go to the Freelancer Editing Tutorial Forum and look there for you editing answer. Although for someone who is "damnlazy" it might be more work than its worth. But you will certainly appreciate the complexity of the game.

Get the ini decrompressor (BINQU or something, in the downloads section)

In the market_ships.ini look for the line

marketgood = coe2_package, 32, -1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1

... and change the 32 to whatever level you want. There will be several entries for Leon, Crete etc. Can't remember the base name .. EW03_01 perhaps or Hi02_01, not sure. Just change them all.

*edit* PS remember to back up your ini's first ...

Look around for links to how to decompress and save the file, there are lots of posts about it. Half the fun is finding out stuff yourself but this is a start.

Okay I'm pretty sure I know what to do now. This is the first time I have worked with .ini files so I didn't know you had to uncode it to edit it (doh) So I found a couple ini editors but either im stupid or the programs are... Cause it always gives me an error when I try to open that specific file.

So what is you alls advice on editing the file itself.. getting it open etc. which should be easy I take it but its not working for me.. a little more help..

First, download BINI. Unzip it to a directory. Now, find the ini file you want, and right click on it. Click open with (or go to open and then open with. something like that.). Now instead of selecting a program from the list, click browse. Go to the directory where you unzipped bini. double click the exe labled bini in that directory. this should take you back to the list, and bini will be selected. go to the bottom and make sure that the box that says "always open this type of file with this program" or whatever, is UNCHEKED. now, click open. It should create a copy of the file in the same directory as the original ini file, only this one will be followed by .ini.txt. You can edit this one, then rename the old one, and delete the .txt off of the new edited one so it has the EXACT same name as the original, including the following .ini. It cannot have .ini.txt, or the program will not run. Good luck.
