Idea - for a new ship

I have an idea for a ship I think would be cool for Freelancer. Does any one here watch Andromeda?…

Well if you do then you will know what I’m talking about. I think a cool ship for Freelancer would be the Nietzschean cruiser. I have looked a little bit online all be it not that hard for some pictures but could not find any.

They are not all that big, probably in the middle between a Gunboat and a Cruiser. Yeah I know this is not allot of info and I’m rambling but hey! That’s just me! Thanks for taking the time to read this post!

The problem I’m having at the moment is trying to get enough money for a 3D Modeling program.. Those things cost lots of cash! This game needs Lightwave 3D right?

Maybe I can find a model someone else has made and figure out how to put it into Freelancer if they don’t mind of course. That in it’s self seem like it will be pretty hard but I’m willing to give it a go.

You need Milkshape3d (shareware). It's not as powerfull as the profesional software (3dstudio max, lightwave) but so far it is the only one able to convert the models to freelancer (you need to download the plugin for it).

Oh well that’s good news... Now I just need to learn how to model. I tried to model once with Truespace and I had no idea what I was doing. I ended up turning a sphere into something that looked like a Minbari War cruiser from Babylon 5.

I'm most likely driving into a dead end here as even if I can by some chance make something that looks like the ship I have no way to texture it. I have no experience with any if the above ether so I can say I have no idea what I'm doing.
