"Mod the Demo"

Hey Freelancer's..How are we all doing? I am sure anyone who is reading this message, has already played out the demo version of Freelancer by Microsoft.

Is their anyway to "MOD" the Demo so as to unlock the jump portals or disable the time-out sequence, which is very annoying.

yes there is already some mods for the demo they're in the downloadsection, marked with demo-mod(or something like that) and some mods like the opensp mod work with the demo too
but you cannot go to other systems (or a new, own system) i think they (MS9 had locked this feature in the demo, but why???

Because you seem to miss several important files to travel between systems.

MS & DA knew that they wouldn't need to add those files, because the player is not allowed to leave New York, so they never installed them.
