Btw is their someon that can concert the .gmax file in a .3DS file so I can import it into milkshape3d??

Doh! I guess you're using Gmax. I ran into the same problem. I'm currently using Metasequoia (to make parts) and DOGA-L3 (to assemble). However since I have no experience with modeling whatsoever progress is painfully slow. I also have an unnatural fixation with the Banshee from wing commander

Like I said before. Sweet model.

Here's a possibility for the conversion. Bear in mind that I'm new to modeling.

You can download the tempest plugin for gmax. This will allow you to export models in md3 format which can be imported by Milkshape.

I've already tryied using the tempest pack and other MD3 plugins, the prob is that the model looks like this afther the export:

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but ive read every tutorial on doing this. Thank god I created the intire hull in milkshape so if i realy need to I can make the guns again. Bot not as good as in gmax :S

I guess the only alternative would be to petiton the developer to create a freelancer game pack for gmax.

You could also submit a "game request" at the Discreet website at:

http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/game_request.html

This way you could eliminate the need for milkshape entirely.

So spread the word kiddies. Remember your vote counts! Etc Etc....

Use Deep Exploration by Right Hemisphere. It can convert anything to anything.

Ok, so I downloaded Gmax and I can't figure out how to get my model I make into the game I have also tried to open a ship file, but I don't know what one to open for editing. anyone have a tutorial on making ships? thankies!
