Warp speed almost have it

is there a way to make cruise stop right away on the waypoint so you can set it at 200,000,000 and stop right there. i have set it at 2,000,000 and it slows down and stops about 100K away.

I just wanted to ask one thing are we talking about Star Trek or Freelancer.
Dont you think that the speed you are using is just a litte excessive seeing as in a normal game your only crusing at 300. I know its a riot to blast through space but your accelerating so fast its going to take a safety net to slow you down at that speed. Try bring the speed down to a reasonable speed than you wont have so much trouble controling your ship.
Next time your in the Dublin system I'll race you around the track.

There probably is a way to increase your deceleration to a insane amount. If i remember correctly it might have something to do with the maneuverbility settings on the z axis, i don't remember which, and how much reverse thrust the ship has.

The file is in the freelancer /data folder the file name is constants.ini
heres the entry you need to add to adjust curise speed this is for cruising only
replace the X with a number of your choice this is an example of the first two entrys not the whole file. Be careful
[Constants
COLLISION_DAMAGE_FACTOR = 0.500000
MUSIC_CROSS_FADE_DELAY = 10.000000
MUZZLE_CONE_ANGLE = 40
PLAYER_COLLISION_GROUP_HIT_PTS_SCALE = 3
PLAYER_ATTACHED_EQUIP_HIT_PTS_SCALE = 5
MAX_PLAYER_AMMO = XXXX;add this line to adjust ammo

[EngineEquipConsts
CRUISE_DISRUPT_TIME = 5
MAX_DELTA_FX_THROTTLE = 0.250000
THROTTLE_STEADY_TIME = 0.500000
THROTTLE_ATTEN_MOD_RANGE = 8.000000
DELTA_THROTTLE_ATTEN_MOD_CHANGING = 8.000000
DELTA_THROTTLE_ATTEN_MOD_STEADY = -1.000000
CRUISE_STEADY_TIME = 2.000000
DELTA_CRUISE_ATTEN_MOD_STEADY = -1.000000
CRUISE_ATTEN_MOD_RANGE = 8.000000
CRUISING_SPEED = XXXX;add this line to adjust your cruising speed

Try playing with the ships linear drag or mass. A higher drag coefficient, or a lower mass should get you the effect you want. They'll affect the ship in other ways, too, though....

would i be right in saying you could stop cruis disrupters from working if you set the value to 0?

Ney.
It just means you can start your engines up again immediately after they stop.
If you want to disable cruise disrupters, take a dive into their ammo stats.
