I'm assuming from the second part of the question this pertains to MP? There are a couple of different ways to work this mod. First, you could change the appropriate system ini files (such as \DATA\UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS\L01\l01.ini) music section to point to your music files. This may interfer with others but is unlikely to. Second, you could replace the files in your \DATA\AUDIO\MUSIC\ folder (and rename to match) with your own music. This shouldn't affect anyone else even in MP as those files don't get shipped around and the .ini still point to the correct names.
