Owning multiple ships???

Is there any mods available that allow you to own multple ships in the game?

Anyone remember a game called HardWar?

You could own multiple ships, and also buy buildings with hangers around the world, to keep your multiple ships in.

Pretty cool!!!

I have been thinking about that game ever since I got freelancer. I don't think that owning bases would work out very well but if a system could be set up to store ships. Hell maybe even pay rent.

Purchasing a system, or capturing one, allows you free access to the ships and resources of that system.

now how about that idea?

the only drawback is when you want to swap ships, you have to reconfgure your ship specs each time.

we need multiple ship ownership, we NEED it....

someone must be able to work out how to do it.
I want to have my train for dealing, my titan for siteseeing, and my kusari gunship for blow stuff into the next life, eternal gratitude is the reward for anyone who can pull this off

To own multiple ships, at least you must own a base, or at least a small cruiser with enough hangar - docking ports. If only there's a small cruiser (civullian cruiser perhaps) available in he game which could be purchased, which are capable of carrying 2 -3 smaller ship, that would be a great idea, just like that German game, X-pansion, where we can buy ourselves a carrier and even several bases

Now that would e cool.

I quess that's only appear on Fl expansion pack, or evev in FL 2

X-tension was an expansion of X 1, X2 is on the way (X 2: The Threat)

If im not mistaken you could hire wingmen in that game too, the only reason its not as hot as Freelancer is cause of graphics, but Freelancer is suverely lacking compared to X otherwise, i bet X 2 will probably kick Freelancers ass, that it why Freelancer devs gotta do something drastic since those who has finished the game are already bored with the original game (me atleast)

It can't be done. Or it can, if you can decompile freelancer.
If you can decompile freelancer, well, you can re-write the game.
IT'S UNBELIEVABLY HARD.

And anyway, Trent is a PILOT, not a young rich playboy trying to get girls with his collection of stylish ships.

x2 will be better than freelancer in every way bar the graphics and the handling of the ships. if they could combine x2 with freelancers graphics you would have a monster of a game

I like the cruiser idea, a mobile base with loot storage, facilities and free repairs!

It could follow you around, or it could just appear in every system you are in, like it was following you around.

Now that would be cool!

In hardwar and (X) you could start a base and open it up for local trading, so it automatically made money while you are out flying around.

I set up a base in hardwar that was near a dangerous region and made thousands from ships flying in for repairs after being attacked or after large battles.
