Requesting Cowboy Bebop anime starships please!

Hello.. love the model work ongoing, however i'd like to see some skins from the 1998 anime/manga program "Cowboy Bebop" as this program is about a trio of mercenaries who use intersteller flight as their tool of tracking down bounties (much like Freelancer!). I'd particularly like to see the ship that the main character Spike Spiegel drives called the "Swordfish II". It's a pinkish red colour and here's some brief info:

Swordfish II
High speed fighter/ 13.8m long/ 13.3m wide/ 4.8m high (including guns)/ weight 8.4t

The Swordfish is Spike’s MONO Racer. Originally developed for high-speed sport, it was remodelled and fitted with armaments by Spike’s friend Doohan. It has four wing-mounted machine guns and a laser cannon attached to the underside. The main engine is a nuclear fusion aero-spike, and the booster nozzle is reconfigured as a short-range impulse drive. Spike has used this machine for over a decade.

sorry - just seen it.

It's a little hard to find your post when it's put in a non specific cowboy bebop thread thread!

Lovely work though, as i commented in the other one!

oh, and here's another good Cowboy BeBop thread i've just discovered (sorry once again) - should really link to it, just in case:

Personnaly, I really don't like these designs but if you like them so much, why don't anyone of you try to make models/skins by yourself ?

I wish the admins would just lock any "request" threads. Apparently these people are too lazy to get off their butts and learn how to do it themselves. Those who do know how to do it are probably already working on another project themselves.

There are only 10 kinds of people in the world:
those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Datdorid, thanks for invading the thread with your anal opinion - it was much appriciated.

All this "spam" talk is really pissing me off. It was a request, get over it, move on with life. Some people with the skill at modding get very selfish and very arrogant about what they can do with their "i'm a know it all" attitude - but such is life, and maybe you're right. As the saying goes "if you want a job done properly, you do it yourself".
But, I resent people treating me like an idiot becuase i didn't see a thread on a page. For god's sake, i apologised and even linked to it in my thread. Take a step back, away from your sensabilites and get a life for christs sake..

Needs to be said, some people BEGGER belief.
thanks for your time and invasion.

Relax, Mercenary, we're not treating you like a idiot.
It's just that we (the "know it all" ) are generally working on our personnal projects and it's really boring to see the forum filled with post such as "please make this for me".
If you really want to have these ships in your game, start by trying to do it yourself and show us the result. If it's not good, then try to build a small team of talented guys around you to help you with your project. At least, they'll see you're involved.
But don't wait for other peoples to do it for you (and certainly not in such a demanding way).
Please don't take it wrong, we (at least I) have nothing against you, I'd just want this forum to be a better place for all of us ;-)

And believe me, I know what I'm talking about (I've been around for more than 2 years, modding for SL before moving to FL. I don't know what happened to my post count tho...)

PS: Another solution would be to make a unique "request thread" for every requests on this forum but there is very little chances peoples would read it but it would be easier for somebody ready to work to find and get involved a project...

i agree... but not just a thread... make it just another forum.... even easier for those who are lookin for some work... BTW does anyone that has already registered Milkshape 3D what to share their registration code??? ;-) no... just kidding... actually i would like someone to give me theirs but i seriously doubt it.... anywho... it was worth the try!

Space... it's so.... big..... you can't exactly meet me in a dark allyway either...... so I'll just annihilate you now....... okey dokey?

*good luck and god speed to our troops in Iraq[!*

So..... has anyone got any closer to making any Cowboy Bebop mods?

Has that Swordfish II model been skinned?

Post Sat May 03, 2003 4:25 am

Ugh, perhaps I should take up modding again...

Post Sat May 03, 2003 9:46 am

I would probably do it for u m8 if i had any modeling skill. The problem is: I really do h8 that design of that ship. Its red. Its pointy. It has old fasioned headlights.

I agree that Milkshape isn't an easy tool to use, and that you probably have better things to do.... but there are probably plenty of tutorials on how 2 use it on the net.

Hey, I remember my first post was a request for a mod! I soon felt the need to know the game - how it works etc etc, and I now, with the help of this great community, have made my own system!

You get anamazing sense of self satisfaction. and hey, you could even attempt to learn how to skin - skin the other guys model and work on the thing together!
