Idea for Mod: Class specific weapons

Hello!
I've been thinking about making a single weapon, lets call it "Justice", and having 3 different versions of it. for example, Light Fighter one would be 40/20/8.33, HF would be 85/55/8.33 and VHF would be 189/90/8.33.
You can use them on the respective fighter classes.
Throw out the class 1-10 hardpoints so every fighter class has its own weapons.

Is this doable?

You'd have to add classes to the dll that defines them. VERY HARD WORK.

I was looking at the same thing, but for engines. There are very few people who are good at dis-assembling binary code like this. But some people did it.

Thats easy. Remove class lvls 4-10... Duh.

Make class 1 for the Lf

Make class 2 for the Hf

Make Class 3 for the Vhf.

In the Shiparch.ini, Only have 1 hp_type = hp_weapon...
Line per ship, For the corrisponding number.

Easy.

Yes I agree, it would be much more easier to take out the regular weapons classes and make say light fighters have class 1 guns and make all class 1 guns.

doing this to the red and green colored lasers would work for the star wars mod.
