Changing starting ship in MP (Don''t yell at me!

I have looked in all the forums for the past two days, and not found anything.

All I want to do is dump that turd Starfiler and change it to Starblazer.

I am not sure on how to do this, can someone please assist me?

I remember seeing it, but I would assume that it's been archived, and therefore currently inaccessible (AFAIK).

I don't know everything that needs to be changed.

which one is the starblazer? anyway, if you want to switch from the starflier to the startracker just open up data->character->newcharacter.ini and replace all the "ge_fighter" with "ge_fighter2", or "bw_fighter" for the dagger (thats what i have). you can look up the other nick names in shiparch.ini.

just for grins, i tried to give myself the eagle (ge_fighter6) but if i do it the way you do it the server crashes... what gives??

I believe that newcharacter.ini is for multi player if I,m wrong I,m sure someone will be more than happy too correct me.
