Creating missions on par with SP

I am not much of an editor, and I haven't played Freelancer yet (well, just the demo), but I can see randomly generated missions getting dull after awhile... What I was wondering is how difficult is it to make multi-part missions a la SP missions? The SP mission I have played was not overly challenging, but in depth and detailed, and alot of fun to play.
My idea, if it is feasible, is to create custom missions that would spawn at specific bases if your reputation is high enough. One person can only produce so many ideas, but if you have 50 different people making long, in depth custom missions, the ideas are limitless. And if it can all be compiled, all the better.
Please don't say something like "why dont you do it yourself". I'm just throwing this in the air to garner interest for this sort of thing. New ships,factions, and systems are awsome. Adding cooler missions is equally awsome. And since you can't make a random mission type to recycle, this is the next best thing

I totally agree with what you are saying. In fact I made a topic 5 minutes before seeing yours entitled "I'll take one Custom Mission Builder to go...hold the aliens. " I think its only a matter of time. If anyone out there has a beta of a mission builder, I would give it a try to help give some feedback.

The game is just out in most places so I'd give MS a couple of months but yeah DA should make an editor but people would screw around and make like Kill 1 Junker and get 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 Credits. No plans for one is what DA said though :

If you wants to fool around you can do it anyhow, even without editor.
I strongly agree that the game will become boring after the story ends and you stay just with the random missions. These are always the same!
Hope something comes around to build rather complex missions. Would be great to post these!

The real trick would be to have scripted missions that you can access any time, but are never limited because you don't take them, and that don't constantly remind you of them while you're just flying around.

what would be really intresting to me is to get this editor that i hope releases very very soon. and make more random missions... BUT!!!!... not those "go kill these fighters" or "tractor this loot". I would make random missions that involve destroyer and battleship battles. my briefing would be something like this.

An attack on the liberty Rogues would be a wise idea now. We are going to attack one of their strongholds. And we would apperciate your help in the matter. You will fly to the designated coordinates. Our fleet will consist of 4 Dreadnoughts, 7 Cruisers, and 24 fighters. Destroy the Rogue Stronghold.

Reward: 142,000

this is the libertys case. which their enemy is the rogues.

we created a litle program wich you can use to make extra misions or "bar" missions. we will make it ready to downloads as soon as our website is back online

Seriously? Please, where can we get this mod? I want new mission types soooo badly.
