msg_id_prefix = gcs_refer_shiparch_Liblf?

I made a new ship, and was wondering what I needed to do to append this to reference my ship(I'm supposing it references it). All I know is that it refers to a liberty light fighter, but I dont' know how or through what it references.

My own ship's name is li_fighter_Stingray.

the msg_id_prefix has to do with speech files, for example gcs_refer_system_li01 is new york system Currently i have not found a sucessfull way to import new speech files, i'm stumped in that area. Hope that clears that up

gcs_refer_system_li01 has nothing to do with speech files, i think.
This marks the system FL puts you when using a Gate.

I think the GCS_REFER_SYSTEM is something like a GlobalControlSystems_referenzing-System which controlles all the systems and their jumpgates(-holes) connections and the hole Universe.
So a line like gcs_refer_system_li01 means, that the GCS lookes in the li01_base.ini for the target to jump.
The line "goto=" gives the target [Object} for teh jump, too.

a good theroy but wrong. I have messed with these a lot and if you look in the audio directory at for instance the voices_space_female.ini and do a search for gcs_refer_system_li01 you will find it there. The msg_id and the gcs_refer have to do with speech files. I know because for my new system I made a new one called gcs_refer_system_LINAC when it came time to say the name of the system the speech was cut off *cause was no reference in the ini file* so I tried adding a new reference and pointing it to an audio file, no matter what i did it just played a blank wav file witch tells me it's specifcily looking in the related utf file, and even with the utf editor i'm not exactlay sure how to add new speech into it sucessfully yet. At any rate the msg_id_prefix refer's to a msg= nickname in a speech file ini, ussally if not always the voices_space_male.ini, voices_space_female.ini, voices_base_male.ini, and voices_space_female.ini
I worked nearly a week trying to figure this out. And got stuck on adding new sound files as i explained a moment ago. Hopefully someone will figure out that last step

lol, I'm even more confused now.

that line is in a ship's stats in the shiparch.ini, and was confused before, because the npc's always refer to your ship during hailing or comm chatter as Freelancer 1-xx.

Go back and read through my orignal post, that other post wasn't directed at your question but the other persons. TO put it simply don't worry about it, leave it as it is.
