dds to jpeg

I know Im probably gonna get flamed for asking, but I did a search and couldn't get a result that was applicable, and it is too time consuming to manually scoure the forumes, so here goes...

I've managed to extract the dds file I want, but I wanted them in jpeg format.
Does anyone know of a way to convert the dds file to jpeg?

YesI do, just figured it out last night in fact. There is a DL on Nvidias website with a pack of all the DDS tools you need. Then include a plugin that works with both Photoshop and PaintshopPro (though its only advertised to work with photoshop)

http://developer.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO ... ion_plugin

Note: it also includes an install so you can view DDS thumbnails in windows

Since it seems you are only a shot way behind me in learning this stuff it would be cool if you could tell me how to do anything you figure out, I'm still having some trouble figureing out what textures get applied to what part of the ship.

EDIT: Fixed link, thanks for the heads up Mace

Yeah, I found those, but seeing as I dont have either paint shop pro or photo shop, they are useless for me...

Well there is something in there for you. The ReadDxt command line utility that comes with that pack can extract DDS to TGA, however its usage is not documented in the instructions included., you might be able to use the same commands parameters that get used to nvdxt (for converting back to dds when your done) and those params are documented.
