2 Ship Models, Looking for Skinner.

I have 2 ships that I have been working on. Even though I have been trying to do the textures, I'm just no good as of yet. I was wondering if anyone would like to texture either of my ships.

Nice. They look very good. How many polys? What did you make em with???

I made them using 3d Studio. The top one has about 3000 and the bottom one has about 1600.

Bottom one looks like the morning star i think from WC.

Actually it's the Stiletto from Privateer.

THATS what it is! I knew it looked familier!

they look great...top one could almost be an F-22 Raptor...

but why do you need air intakes for spaceships?

Atmospheric maneuvering. Landing, take-off, and such.

Or, it could be a ramjet intake.

Or a bit of wang

Well, if you don't understand why it has intakes. Why does it have wings? Spacecraft could be a box with engines and fly just as well. Spaceships are usually designed like atmospheric craft. Even Star Trek ships have a type of intakes in the Bussard Collectors.

I've been working on the textures for the top fighter. Tell me you think the texture needs more work or if it looks good.

Did you do the vert/faces technique or just plain meshing an dputting things together?

I would most certainly use more different textures to add depth to the model. One colour makes the details harder to see if you understand what I mean =)

Very nice models though !

I used Unwrap3d to make the texture. I understand what you mean by adding depth, but this is the first time I've actually tried to make textures. I've found tutorials, but they don't seem to help much for spaceships.

the texture is pretty good except it looks kind of bland, add more detail to stuff and it will look better.

btw where did u find that space ship tutorial?
