getting tractor beam to recognize increased hold size

okay. im able to increase hold size on my dromedary freighter to 2000 (could go higher, but maintaining SOME semblance of realism) however, i've noticed that trying to tractor in items, i can only tractor in 275? is this a hard-coding issue? how do i resolve? i've searched the forums, to no avail. any help on this would be greatly appreciated

i dont know but i have the same problem, i thought it was only me until now . my hypothesis is that it is listed in some forsaken file that has been shoved into some forsaken folder with some generic name...think of the hull issue. when you mod your ship's hull, the numbers dont change on the infocard - you have to mod them seperatly for an accurate reading. i sould guess that somewhere it says "allow tractor beaming only if dromedary's filled cargo hold is < 275". that would explain it...it might even be in a dll somewhere.

Items goods you buy at a market you can buy up to the full amount 2000 I assume. But...

The reason you can not tractor in more than 275 in SPACE because the game engine actually puts a 'size volume' to objects in space (look into that other file loot stuff) it is defines ALSO in that file for the REAL physical space objects to tractor in (has them .3db files for item picture). Reset the volumes to zero instead of 1 or so to fit more crap into the hull.

275 = 255 a suspicious common number in binary stuff. 2^8 power -1. Data is stored as a two word byte. So, there is a limit. 1234-5678 is two bytes = 256 almost to store number. Must redeclare variable in initialization source code to be more I guess. Je ne sais pas. I am just guessing from decompiling content.dll and looking at the assembler code language.

If you reset the volume to zero, won't you be able to fit an infinite amout of crap into your hull?

ahem. It works, you are trying to do it on a server that doesn't have the mod running, or you messed something up
