help creating new ships plz,

i just went to http://www.theforce.net/scifi3d/
as posted by mooko and they got tons of star wars ship there,i can open the ships with 3d max,but does anyone know how to convert them to the cmp file we need for freelancer and how i would get the mat file too,or if this is even possible,i would love to fly about in those ships,lol,i would be gratefull for any help or just to be told that it cant be done this way.lol.

i can also click on save as..and save it as a cmp file but i really dont think that would work,and even if it did that doesnt explain where i get the mat file from.lol.am i in too deep here.

try exporting them to a format milkshape can use and use the milkshape cmp thing
