**** POLL **** Which Mod Loader do you use? VOTE VOTE VOTE!!

I'll get right to the point. I don't have alot of time to duplicate my mods for every different loader that someone comes up with. So I need to know which ones people are using. I'll write the mods for that one first and get the next popular second.

I guess alot of people think all us modders have nothing better to do then to write the SAME code 15 different times so it can work with every program in creation out there. Did I also mention I own my own business, have a family to take care of and run several major websites while I do this too. Or did you think I was some 15 year old with no life and loads of time with nothing to do.

Here are the current choices that I know of, take your pick and only vote once. Found yet another one...

IGx89 Mod Loader ( FLMM )

OR

Wabbik Mod Loader ( Flauncher )

OR

Unseth Mod Loader. ( FLEDMM )

I use FLMM, even though it's ugly, because it WORKS!

FLMM

My vote is for FLMM. It's simply the best supported and least error prone of these three Mod Launchers. I'd like to support the community by using it, but right now, FLEDMM is better suited to my development needs.

When I go Beta, I'd like to release my mod with FLMM. Standardization is rather important right now - it'll come back and bite us if we all choose different launchers. Maybe I could help contribute to FLMM so that it can better appeal to mod developers. IGx89, need any help?

Don't worry about Wabbik stealing the show with his fancy graphics. Even if he gets the majority of the ship-hacking community to switch to his editor, I think the truly great mods will be released with something more stable - that doesn't... eat your harddrive.

FLMM as its all been downloaded by most folks who frequent our server

FLMM, especially cause its the only FLSDK supported mod launcher (IGx89 is on the FLSDK team...) And it plainly works best.

Thanks guys; the next version will have pretty icons, but I'm leaving the arrangement and background the way it is for the time being.

Also, FLMM has 2 unique features: auto-downloading (mod.zip.flmod) and mod scripting (makes the download size of your mod incredibly smaller, but at the moment is harder to work with.) Hotrod is making a WinDiff-like tool that will show you the differences between the edited and original ini files, and automatically make a tiny mod script for it. Very neat!

P.S. For all those wondering, Reynen is NOT me, or related to me in any way! It should be easy to tell, because I'm more diplomatic then him and I also don't swear (um, no offense, Reynen )

FLMM because the mods scripts are XML based even.

IGx89
Its scripting language is clear, simple and compatible. Thats the way to go.

hehe, I think freelancer has the most number of mod launchers out their compared to other games(I think), almost every 1-2 weeks you get a *new mod launcher* thread in this forum.

I vote for FLMM because it was the first mod launcher for fl I've ever used and will be the last =)

CW

My favourite mod launcher is called CW's Head. It has a state of the art, not-so-artificial intelligent file analysing engine, gauranteed no errors even for tricky situations, and the algorithm can be updated in real time if required!
