randiff.ini

Hi all,

I have been looking at randiff.ini and couldn't make head or tail out of it. I have tried searching the forums but to no avail. Anyone has any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm guessing they somehow determine the amount of money you need to make to activate the next mission for those in SP that give you time in between to make some cash.

Hmm

I try changing the values - doesn't seem to make a difference. Guess the gap between each mission are fixed :-{

I noticed when I changed the values, that the amount of money that was required to advance really didnt change, as the ptough.ini determines the amount of money needed to advance to the next level. I'm more inclined to think that the rankdiff.ini is a difficulty modifier that adjust the defensive/attack values of the enemy more. The Liberty Rogues are pretty weak all around, even after the SP portion of the game, but they are really weak in the beginning of the SP missions so that your starflier can gut them with little trouble at all.

Any other ideas out there on this one?

No changes in the difficulty either.

The values in rankdiff.ini doesn't corrospondence to any values in ptough.ini. By some stretch of imagination,I think the values in rankdiff could be the extra amount of networth the player can gain. Examples, at Level 2 I have a networth of around 14,000. Rankdiff.ini indicates the gap between mission 1 and 2 is 0.125 something. (0.125 * 14000) + 14000 = 17000 something, which more or less equals to the next networth (defined in ptough.ini) you need to go to level 3.

I changed FreeTime_01_02 value to a incredibiliy large value, 38.983860 and there is no difference. After gaining a few thousand credits Juni contact me for mission 3...grrr...

Whatever the values meant, changing doesn't seem to have any difference. And I did start a new game to test the values...
