Babylon 5 TC

I hereby announce that the Babylon 5 TC has switched from StarLancer to Freelancer.
Our short time goal is the realization of our SP-campaign. After that, we'll probably try to make a free universe for MP.

will take some time though.. we'll first have to figure out the mission format and the cutscene format, and then get voice-actors, make the cutscenes, etc...

but for now i can present you the first screenshots from one of our models in Freelancer: the Thunderbolt

Doesn't it seem more plausable to first put all the ships and planets in, then make a few faction specific missions for each race on their home planets/bases?

I think the time should be put into creating missions instead of cutscenes.

We could create whole new systems if we want the planets to look reseaonably similar to the B5 map, but i don't want to set all that up. So the Mimbari will be a lot lower on the Freelancer map and the major races will have about 3 or 4 systems each. But overall it looks good enough without making any new systems. Maybe some more jump points could help though.

well, we have a complete campaign written down, and that's our top priority. we'll do the systems that the missions take place, and after that probably start with additional systems

So you haven't worked out where you want the hardpoints, RubberEagle?

We'll probably have most things worked out by the time that new expansion pack comes out at Christmas. And it looks like their just adding a lot more story rather than improving the overall gameplay. But that was the way they made the original game so I shouldn't be surprised.

add-on was an april fools joke by EB...

Hardpoints are mostly set, but the model itself isn't finished.. there are some parts missing, textures (the backside of the ship), and there's a misalignment of a texture (you can see it on the second pic, the thing between the wings)

well i've got a reasonable facsimile of hyperspace running as an unknown system.. the sensor only work for a radius of 500 m and i'm thinking of adding hyperspace beacons (read nav buoys) to go from jump hole to jump hole
unfortunately the colour scheme is entirely from memory and may be wrong.. i have screenies if anyone cares, but nowhere to upload them
