Ship Mod Questions

Hi All,

First let me say that I absolutely love this game!!! It has moved me to attempt to do something I have never done before. Mod it. To that end I have some questions and hope that some knid individual(s) would be so kind as to clarify and solidify some things for me. I have examined some of the .ini files and believe that I understand how they relate to each other now but am having some trouble with some things.

1. I am attempting to change the starting SP ship to li_Elite (Defender) and add different weapons to it. From what I can remember about the ship, it has 5 weapons and 1 turret mount but when I look at the following I get confused.

hp_type = hp_gun_special_4, HpWeapon01, HpWeapon02
(Does this mean that this ship will only take 2 MK4 weapons on it hardpoints?)

hp_type = hp_gun_special_3, HpWeapon01, HpWeapon02, HpWeapon03, HpWeapon04, HpWeapon05
(Does this mean that this ship will take up to 5 MK3 weapons on its Hardpoints?)

2. Is the location for the ship descriptions known and editable?

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Hi,

yes to both your first questions.

also to show the changed u have made, aka weapon points etc, on the info, i believe (not 100% sure cos i have'nt done it myself) u need to edit the Dll (reshacker) then it will show up on vendor info,
