what the heck is going on

my demo has just taken to crashing, particularly at random points, usually when im getting fired at by pirates, can anyone help? this is frustrating, as i would like to help out the community in some way

Delete the whole "Freelancer"-folder in "My Documents/My Games", that is where your savegames are. Delete them and start over again and it should work.
