*** Tutorial *** Removing story in single player.

Okay this isn't complete I still haven't figured a way around the rank differences.

Nor does this go into editing initialworld.ini to unlock the gates.

First go to your Freelancer\EXE\ folder and open freelancer.ini

Find the line

And comment it out by putting a semicolon in front of it.

Now go to your Freelancer\DATA\UNIVERSE\SYSTEMS\FP7\ directory

Add

to the end of it.

Now start a new game and head towards the large star in the center of the map.

As you get close you should see a set of docking rings sitting in the middle of space, dock with them, ignoring the entering sun's corona warnings you get.

You are now on manhatten, but if you check your status you will see that you are level 0 and need a few billion credits to level up

I'm trying to figure out how to fix that.

Also you are trapped in New York, but all you have to do to fix that is to comment out all the locked gates in initialworld.ini

Once I get some sleep I'll work on it some more

There already is a NoStory MOD made by D8alus in the download section of FL made about two weeks ago.

It may have a bug that stops you at level 17, I would have to verify that.

Either that one person forgot to install one of the 13 files over the mission files, or one of the mission files does indeed have a script error in one file allowing the story to kick back in. I think it is the former but it was not my creation needs a look at. Seemed to work for me, but I never tested past level 8 personally.

If it is in error, I would fix it and repost it for him, since he no longer post here and probably moved on to another game for now.

Your way is interesting...but commenting out gates in initialworld.ini will not work. Always another way to skin a chicken I suppose.

I encountered that bug yesterday. All it keeps saying is to meet "Mr Morpheus" on the main deck of the Osiris.

Interesting, That kind of feedback helps MOD creators greatly to improve MODs. I will take alook at his work and see if I can find the bulet and fix it.

Others reading this post, if you are playing with his NoStory MOD - please post comments. Even if it worked for you, helps to track it down. It sound like where you must meet a dude on a batleship and I guess it is on Osiris Morpheus. What mission was that please? and it says you must do this to level up = mission stuck at level 17? THX

The level requirement is "Mission" indeed, yes. It's the last mission.

Mission 13? i thought it was mision 9 where you get the mission to meet uzo to go to battleship. I do not remember.

You are saying that after the very LAST mission 13 the game is OVER. You can not actually complete the mission. It just says level 17 pilot next level requirment is mission; but there is 'no mission' to proceed?

I had to completely re-install my Freelancer last night. I hosed something bad MODing stuff and lost every thing and my save games to check it out.

Can you please tell me more specific, if you may. You completed the last Mission 13 the game is over and you are stuck at Level 17 with no way to complete the next mission to level higher since there is no more 'mission' to do?

I thought the mission was to go meet Morpheus on Battle ship Osiris; but can you actually complete this mission to move on?

lmao. Meet Mr. Morpheous.... Thats hillarious. Considering how much that guy looks like morpheous..... the order leader guy. SPOILERS

And the plot is kinda the same too... The agents are like the nomad infected people... And the order is like the resistance.... kinda a ripoff if you think about it. Juni looks a little like Trinity, and king looks a lot like cypher....

'Meet the Boss' Mission. Is that misson 9? my original savegame autosaves got trashed after I re-install FL messing around with mod creations.

It looks like the Act_ChangeState = SUCCEED line is in a trigger statement that never gets triggered. Thus causes story line to kick back in. I have no way to test it without a save game sent to me. Meet a guy in bar and fly to battleship Osiris in Alaska system hidden I think. m9

There is another problem besides the money needed to advance. I went to get a job at the job board and it gives the message " too many players are accessing the boards come back later." or something to that extent. So the only thing you can do is load very little cargo and start doing cargo runs. Which I don't see how that is going to fix anything. This modification seems to delete the random missions as well. Going to try that other mod.
