freelancer is elite .. only it has more stuff
you mean just a set of ship mods and different locations/commodities?
or take it back to the old elite system?

What a load... Freelancer is Elite? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Elite was FAR more realistic, complex and difficult. For instance, how can those infintile "trade lanes" be taken seriously if actual planets suppose to orbit around their suns?! Nothing is stationary in space, not even stations... that's a rule not to be taken lightly.

In Elite you had to travel accross dozens of astronomical units (AU) to get from one planet to another, and even several hundreds AUs when it came to binary systems (two suns) which is much more realistic then the ridiculous distances in FL. On top of it all... as realistic as Elite was, it was still fun.

the distances are abit small but there is never actually any indication that the distance units (K's) actaully are Kilometres. if they aren't then everything is relative. a "K" could be a very long way, this would mean that the ships/trade lanes go very, very fast. think of one "K" be just that, one "K", a set numerical value used as a measurement aid.

This would be logical if the size of the Osiris battleship wasn't 1/10 the distance between Planet Houston to its sun. I'm not entirely convinced that it's THAT big. I'm affraid that when it comes to astronomical facts and/or logistics FL isn't much more than a joke.

That was sort of my feeling on Freelancer in general: Space....we need more of it. Freelancer's universe just seems kinda crowded. Can't go 3 feet without running into a bounty hunter pack. How many of these people do I have to kill before they simply give up?
