Adding Props to your Character

Hi, I have recently finished the Single Player campaign and wish to customise my charector (I can NEVER spell that word) and wish to add a gun to his hand. It is not a standard body part so I added this:

bodyparts.ini

[Accesory
nickname = gun_kill_one
mech = prop_gun_laser_1.3db
hardpoint = hp_right
body_hardpoint = hp_right
hand_hardpoint = hp_right

costumes.ini

[Costume
nickname=naorin
head=pi_pirate5_head
body=sh_male1_body
righthand=benchmark_male_hand_right
lefthand=benchmark_male_hand_left
accessory=gun_kill_one

This does not work, can anyone tell me of where I have erred?

Trent's costume is load only at the creation of a new game, so now you can't change his costume, only his bodypart.
And sadly extra accessory aren't store in the save game file. So you can see them only on a new game, if you save and reload your accessory dissapeared.
I don't really understand the use of the costume.ini (except for Trent) because costumes are not used in the mbase.ini (the file which discribe each NPC), it directly use each body parts. If you want to add helmets, glasses or neural implants to NPC use this file.

Then the hardpoint for guns is "HpLeftConnect_GUN" or "HpRightConnect_GUN", for the body it is "hp_left a", "hp_left b", "hp_right a" or "hp_right b". I haven't seen the hand_harpoint, it is a really good idea. But for now I don't know how to use it.

oops I forgot to say that those hardpoints are not good, gun is not correctly in the hand... try, try and try again. It could be nice to have cops or pirates with guns

Did you by any chance find a way to decompress .fl files. If so, I am listening..

Obviously no
But I simply see that when I load a game where I have changed the Trent's costume by adding accessory, they are not load

I see. I have experimented with different accessories myself and indeed they vanish after you restart the game. I also had trouble replacing trent's head. Other heads don't appear to be able to handle trent's dialog lines. Lips aren't moving. Anybody knows what the problem is?

No, I didn't decompress the single-play fl file. I have just been starting a server and making a new guy using the multi-play fl file's reconfiguration. And, if you wanted to change sp stuff, isn't it in NewCharacter.ini?

Err... NEWCharacter.ini my bad...

"newcharacter.ini" is only for MP, isn't it ?

Each animated body part use an anim file (don't remenber names) for womem and mem, and one specialy for Trent's head and body. But I haven't found a way to specify which file I want to use for a body part. So you can't use a woman body for your Trent, as you can't change his head correctly.
